SURABAYA, Muhyiddin – In the competitive world of beverage businesses, branding on packaging has become a vital element. Screen printing on plastic cups is one of the most effective ways to enhance product identity. This process requires technical precision to ensure a high-quality finish.
The production cycle follows five essential
steps:
Step 1: The process begins with preparing the design, where logos or text are digitally crafted on a computer.
Step 2: Next is the Afdruk Screen stage, transferring the digital design onto the screen fabric using a light-sensitive emulsion.
Step 3: To ensure the print lasts, technicians mix the ink—specifically plastic-grade ink—with a small amount of thinner (M3 or Terpin).
Step 4: During the printing process, the cup is placed on a rotary tool. The screen is attached, and the operator pulls the ink using a squeegee while rotating the cup simultaneously.
Step 5: Finally, the drying phase requires the cups to air dry for 5 to 10 minutes until the ink is fully set.

Siklus produksi mengikuti lima langkah utama:
Langkah 1: Proses dimulai dengan menyiapkan desain, di mana logo atau tulisan dibuat secara digital di komputer.
Langkah 2: Berikutnya adalah tahap Afdruk Screen, yaitu memindahkan desain digital ke kain screen menggunakan obat peka cahaya.
Langkah 3: Untuk memastikan cetakan tahan lama, teknisi meracik tinta—khusus untuk plastik—dengan sedikit pengencer (M3 atau Terpin).
Langkah 4: Selama proses cetak, gelas diletakkan di alat putar. Screen ditempelkan, dan operator menarik tinta menggunakan rakel sambil memutar gelas secara bersamaan.
Langkah 5: Terakhir, tahap pengeringan mengharuskan gelas diangin-anginkan selama 5 hingga 10 menit hingga tinta benar-benar kering.
